—Humanitarian Award to be presented to Gulf Coast non-profit—

DALLAS / CHARLOTTE – January 8, 2018 – Dallas Market Center, the largest and most successful open-daily home décor marketplace in the country, and ART, the Creative Home Furnishings Network, today announced that the Houston Furniture Bank will receive a Humanitarian Award at the 29th Annual ARTS Awards.

The Houston Furniture Bank, a non-profit organization and provider of home furnishings to individuals and families, is celebrating twenty-five years of service to the Houston area. In 2017, the organization served more than 1,000 families in regular service and more than 1,800 families after Hurricane Harvey.

“Over the past twenty-five years, the Houston Furniture Bank has been a force of good for the entire region, helping more than 26,000 families,” said Cindy Morris, president and CEO of Dallas Market Center. “Their programs helping children have been especially successful and have ensured that the youngest members of the community live and sleep in comfort. Following the devastation of the recent hurricane, the Houston Furniture Bank went above and beyond to serve up to 70 families a day in order to help rebuild homes in the Houston area. We congratulate their team, we recognize their importance to the community, and we honor the difference they make in the lives of families.”

The ARTS Awards, presented each January during the Dallas Total Home & Gift Market, is the premier international awards program dedicated to home industry excellence and achievement. This year the program is recognizing top manufacturers, retailers, product designers, interior designers, and sales representatives from around the world as well as Academy of Achievement recipient Randy Eller and a Humanitarian Award being presented to Houston Furniture Bank.
