ART Conference 2013 Makes A Donation to Dwell With Dignity

Donation to benefit Dwell’s Food + Art + Design (FAD) Education program

March 28, 2013 – Charlotte, NC – ART Conference 2013, produced by the home accents industry association ART, will be held May 7 – 10, 2013 at the Palms Hotel and Spa in Miami, FL.   In its 21st program year, the conference is structured to include business, motivational, home trend and design presenters along with interactive workshops.  Registration for the conference is open to anyone in the home accents industry.

In August 2012, ART announced its industry partnership with Dwell with Dignity.  This year’s conference opens with a dinner address to the attendees from Founder, Lisa Robeson and colleague, Kim Turner.  As part of the partnership, ART Conference will donate $5000 to Dwell with Dignity in lieu of the charity project typically associated with the annual meeting.

Founder, Lisa Robeson commented, “We are thrilled to be able to address the conference’s opening night dinner!  The generous donation from ART is earmarked for our FAD (Food + Art + Design) education program for the families we serve. With this donation, professional chefs, artists and designers will educate our residents, volunteers and donors alike.  This innovative program will be developed to encourage fellowship and education amongst us all while highlighting practical ways to incorporate design into our lives.  We are grateful for supporters like those we have met through ART.  Not only to we appreciate the support of ART, we thank the many of you who have reached out to us individually to help us inspire lives with design.  Unlike any other organization, it is ART members that truly understand, from their hearts, just how much the gift of design can mean in our lives.”

Roy Spence of GSD&M Doesn’t Do Mild

"Don't ask what makes your business different. Ask, rather, what difference your business makes" - Roy Spence

“Don’t ask what makes your business different. Ask, rather, what difference your business makes” – Roy Spence

Advertising is the heart of the business world. You wont get your products and ideas out into this little world of ours without it. The advertising world is all about fresh ideas, new marketing strategies, about doing anything and everything to make sure you are satisfied with what they are doing and that your business is the most unique and necessary to the public. GSD&M has over forty years of experience in turning simple businesses into brands, and taking already well established brands into the stratosphere. While being passionate and dedicated, they are also fun loving and incorporate that into their campaigns.

We are nice. We work with visionary companies. We’re icon builders. We love what we do. We are a passionate bunch. These are words straight from GSD&M’s website and while they inject humor into their “About Us“, it is also very clear that they have dedicated their lives to building better businesses through advertising, creating some of the most recognizable icons in our every day lives. The company still continues to hold up the ideals of its celebrated founders, true visionaries in the world of advertising and beyond.

As one of the four co-founders of GSD&M, Roy Spence has worked tirelessly to create a business that brings about the immediate feeling of satisfaction. He is a man that can be likened to New York City in that its hard to believe that he ever sleeps and he has just as much going on every second of the day. Between building the largest ad agency in Austin, Texas alongside Steve Gurascich, Judy Trabulsi, and Tim McClure, he has written two bestselling books, founded the Purpose Institute and also has his very own line of hot sauces. “We Don’t Do Mild” is the motto on every label of Royito’s Hot Sauce and nothing could be more fitting of the man who has helped to create some of the most iconic brands and slogans in our every day lives. Roy is a man who has made businesses out of his passions, and seeks to help others do the same, to help them build brands that can rival even his own.

Speaking at The Arts Conference on Wednesday, May 8th at 9:00am, Roy Spence will be discussing why every extraordinary business is driven by purpose, and purpose-based branding which is a cornerstone of the GSD&M experience. Register now for your chance to see Roy Spence speak about his life experiences, his business goals and ideals, and for your chance to feel inspired by the sheer passion he lives his life with.

As with all advertising agencies, GSD&M and Roy Spence understand the importance of a social media presence as well, and can be found on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, their personal blog as well as Youtube.
