Lineberry is Executive Vice President of Brand Creative Services for Progressive Business Media.

The Legendary Leadership Award honors an individual who has not only achieved esteemed recognition from industry peers, but who has also led the home industry with passion, and whose dedication has helped hundreds of companies succeed.

“It is a privilege to bestow the Legendary Leadership Award to Connie,” Cindy Morris, president and CEO of Dallas Market Center, said. “We have created a special award this year to honor a special woman. Connie Lineberry’s career in publishing began with Knight Ridder newspapers, followed by stints with Landmark Newspapers and Gannett. Lineberry was hired by Steve Pond, founding publisher of Furniture/Today, in 1981 to launch a marketing services department.

Over the years Lineberry has worked as a marketing executive in partnership with countless furniture and home accent companies to help develop advertising and marketing content for a range of industry publications as the family of trade publications continued to expand. She has served as the publisher of Home Accents Today on two separate occasions, as vice president of marketing, and since 2013 as executive vice president of creative brand services.

For almost 20 years Lineberry has worked alongside and reported to Kevin Castellani, president and group publisher of Progressive Business Media.

“I have had the opportunity to work with a world class team for 35 years, from the editors to the sales people and the support staff,” Connie Lineberry, executive vice president of brand creative services for Progressive Business Media, said. “As a result, we have remained the leading publications in every industry we serve. To say that I am proud of the people and the work we have done to help our industry would be an understatement. I am accepting this honor on behalf of the many, many people who have helped me continue to serve and provide value to amazing companies.”

MarketAthon, a combination of walk-a-thon, marathon and doing our jobs

March 25, 2016 – Orlando, FL –  Rep4Life, a non-profit 501c3 organization, was launched this month with the sole purpose to help traveling sales representatives in the home furnishings industry in hard times due to unforeseen circumstances.   The organization was founded by brothers Alex and Max Fraser of Repzio.   The brothers grew up watching their mother Linda Fraser make a living as a rep in the home furnishings industry and donating her time to serve on the board of Goodwill Industries.  They are uniquely positioned to see the rewards and challenges of being a sales rep as well as understanding the importance of giving back to their community.  The organization launched a companion website at www.rep4life.org.

Rep4Life.org will provide help to sales reps in need in two ways.  1 – A crisis grant that pays basic living expenses directly for the rep or 2 – a matching grant that matches funds raised by a manufacturer, family member or rep group on your behalf.   Grant applications are accepted from individuals who are themselves traveling sales professionals, on behalf of another traveling sales professional or an immediate dependent (spouse or child) as listed on tax returns.

The organization gets its funding in several ways.   Through the website, they accept donations from individuals or companies who want to support this cause.  They will also hold fundraising events during home furnishings markets.

The first event will be held during the Spring 2016 Market, High Point MarketAthon which begins Friday, April 15 and runs through Monday, April 18.   Every market attendee is invited to participate.   Think of a Market-A-Thon as a combination of a walk-a-thon, marathon and working market.  High Point hosts millions of square feet of showroom space.   Everyone walks miles and miles during market.  This is a chance to turn our jobs into a fun competition with charitable giving.   Market attendees can sign up to participate in the MarketAthon or to sponsor someone who is signed up.  Teams are accepted.   To participate or to sponsor someone, sign up here.

For more information on Rep4Life, please visit our website at www.rep4life.org.   To participate in the Spring 2016 High Point MarketAthon, please visit our event site at http://www.firstgiving.com/rep4life/high-point-marketathon
