ART + IDS Conference to Include Community Project

February 2, 2017 – Charlotte, NC / High Point, NC – Attendees of the first combined ART + IDS Conference in Scottsdale, AZ May 18-21, 2017, will have the opportunity to participate in a community project supporting a US Vets housing facility, Grand Veterans Village. Residential interior designers and professionals from the home furnishings industry will work together to improve the interiors of the facility, creating home-like spaces for residents. The goal of the project is to complete a total of 132 rooms as well as a lobby, community room, recreation room, and other common rooms. The work day for this project is Saturday, May 19th during conference.

Grand Veterans Village, one of eight US Vets housing facilities in the United States, was founded in 2003 to house homeless, low-income and disabled veterans in Phoenix, Arizona. The greater organization, US Vets, was founded in 1992 in Los Angeles, California to meet the needs of their homeless veteran population. US Vets strives for all veterans and their families to have their needs met to regain and maintain productive independence. The successful transition of military veterans and their families through the provision of housing, counseling, career development and comprehensive support is their mission. 28th ARTS Awards Winners Announced

DALLAS – Jan. 21, 2017 –Dallas Market Center and ART announced the winners of the 28th annual ARTS Awards during a gala event held Friday, January 20 at the Hilton Anatole hotel and attended by 650 guests. The ARTS Awards is the premier international awards program for the home industry honoring manufacturers, retailers, designers, and sales representatives and is held each January during the Dallas Total Home & Gift Market. Awards were presented across major industry categories including manufacturing, retail, design, and sales as well as two special leadership and achievement awards.

“Winning an ARTS Award is an outstanding accomplishment, and we send our congratulations to the winners,” Cindy Morris president and CEO of Dallas Market Center said. “There are so many outstanding individuals and companies that continue to creatively shape the home industry, and it is our honor to recognize them for their inspiring leadership.”

At this year’s ARTS Awards twenty industry leaders, style experts, and celebrity designers presented the awards including Kelli Ellis, Libby Langdon, Jason Harris, Caroline Hipple, and Jan Barboglio. Also in attendance were the ARTS Awards judges, the ARTS Awards committee members from ART, and members of the ARTS Awards nominating panel.
