The Academy of Achievement honoree is selected each year by the ARTS Awards Committee in order to recognize significant contributions to the industry. The committee serves one year and their duties include a review of the process and selecting the Academy of Achievement honoree. The 28th ARTS Awards committee are: Amir Loloi, Loloi; Jason Harris, The Design Network/Furnitureland South; and Russ Jones, Ivystone. Past Academy of Achievement honorees include Robert Currey, Mac Hoak, the Cooper family, and Allan Palecek.
The ARTS Awards, presented each January during the Dallas Total Home & Gift Market, recognizes top manufacturers, retailers, product designers, interior designers and sales representatives from around the world in 23 categories as well as special categories such as Academy of Achievement and a special award this year for Legendary Leadership being presented to industry icon Connie Lineberry. The winners and special honorees will be recognized during a gala event on Friday, January 20, 2017 at the Hilton Anatole Hotel.
